The negative and the positive

We are reading a book right now in class called The Seer of Shadows by Avi. The book is set in the 1870s and is told through the eyes of a photographer's apprentice.

Through the detailed accounts of developing film throughout the story, it has come to my attention that my students DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT FILM! That's right folks, they are too young to remember developing film (or at least dropping it off at Walgreens!).

I made the double mistake of asking them if they knew what slides looked like when we were talking about negatives, and they looked at me with blank stares. What is the world coming too? I love my Dad's slideshows!

On a positive note, we are learning about how a bill becomes a law. Click here to learn more!
