A Thrill Ride

My young scientists were given the task of creating roller coasters today. They thought it was an easy task, until they got started. We've been learning about energy in motion. The ups and downs (get it?) of potential and kinetic energy. We know that potential is stored energy, and kinetic is the energy caused by motion. So with a little bit of tubing, a marble, and some tape, students got busy.

Sorry for the blurry pics. You see, some of us lost our marbles with this project! If you want to build your own roller coaster, visit Discovery Kids.
