So what are a few of my favorite things? For one, I love when our little baby 5th grade birds do fly the nest and go from good to great. Here is a shining example of four young men (8th graders to be exact) that are wonderful examples of adolescence. I can say this because I don't live with them. Their parents and siblings might have different opinions at times. These boys, Christian, Wil, Max, and Jarrod (leisurely laying across the front) came back last week for a game of kickball. This is our 4th annual Kick for a Cause game in honor of Wil and Jarrod's mom Brenda. I hate to say that she lost her battle to cancer when the boys were in 5th grade, because she didn't lose. She fought a great fight. Inspired others a long the way, and helped to raise (with a great partner in Roger) two fine boys who are now young men. She was witty, generous, intelligent, and just plain good at being a mom. Our kickball games raised over $500 for the Luca Family Endowment at TMH.
On a less serious note, I also favor candy. We had a interesting day last week. The students earned the right to choose their schedule for the day. We had a pet show and tell, a walk to Market Square for lunch, and a candy shop in our room.
Of course this wad of goodness is my FAVORITE thing! He is trying so hard to crawl. Cheer him on!
